CHARLES CITY- Charles City Schools Superintendent Dr. Dan Cox says hiring a Public Relations firm sooner rather than later is an important priority for the Board of Education. On Monday, the board met and discussed the possiblilty of hiring a firm to help boost public support of a facilities plan.
Cox says particular social media groups are spreading incorrect information regarding the proposed facility plans for the district.
Board member Loraine Winterink agreed that hiring a PR firm would be in the best interest of the board.
Board members agreed that a social media presence as well as printed materials outlining proposed plans would be beneficial. Dr. Cox says he will send out a request for proposal and the board will discuss hiring a firm at the February 24th meeting.
