Nuisance Properties 1-21-2014
CHARLES CITY- Nuisance control is still underway by the City of Charles City. On Monday, City Attorney Ralph Smith told council members that the city is currently working on correcting two nuisance properties. Smith says one of the properties is in need of demolition.
Smith says there are 3 or 4 more properties the city deems as nuisances and hopes to correct. The current property in need of demolition is estimated to cost between $5,000 to $8,000 dollars.
Councilman Jerry Joerger (YEA-ger) thanked Smith for taking care of the nuisance problem.
Plans on correcting the second nuisance property will begin in the spring. Smith says that project will consist of correcting the exterior appearance of a building.
